The DIRECTOR OF FINANCE is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the Finance department, developing budgets, establishing financial systems, and liaising with other departments regarding financial matters.

A professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant-CPA), with a minimum of five years experience (three years at a senior management level) with knowledge of municipal finance, by-laws and regulations, accounting, budgeting and auditing experience is required.  Must have or be willing to attain a thorough knowledge of the Municipal Government Act, related statutes, laws, regulations and precedents respecting local government.

The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and previous experience with the Serenic financial accounting software would be considered an asset.

The position requires experience and skills in office and financial management; experience in staff/project supervision; and excellent communication skills (oral and written). Familiarity with County structure, operations, and knowledge of rural communities is an asset.
