Permanent, full-time – 35 hours per week

$80,262.00 - $100,300.20 / annum

Reporting to the Manager, Safety Codes Services, the Safety Codes Officer, Building provides compliance monitoring within the building discipline in accordance with the requirements of the Safety Codes Act.

The ideal candidate will have a certificate or diploma from a college or technical school and hold certification, or be eligible to hold certification issued by the Safety Codes Council as a Safety Codes Officer in the building code discipline.  Three to six years related work experience, inclusive of field review, plan review, code interpretation and interpretation of the Safety Codes Act and regulations pursuant to the Act is required for this position.  The individual should have knowledge of how the Alberta mandatory tradespersons’ requirements apply to the permit eligibility requirements.  The successful candidate must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check as part of the hiring process.
