  • Community Improvement Planning Handbook
    This handbook, produced by Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, will help your municipality plan activities that effectively use, reuse and restore lands, buildings and infrastructure. The objective is to continually energize your community through the attainment of environmental, social, cultural and economic benefits achieved from more sustainable growth management and development practises.   • Planning for Barrier Free Municipalities
    This handbook looks at ways for municipalities to eliminate barriers for people with disabilities in planning and development decisions, especially decisions involving public facilities and outdoor public spaces. This guide provides suggestions for municipalities to develop barrier-free policies and options that will suit their local circumstances and resources.  The goal is to assist and encourage municipalities to implement local initiatives that remove existing barriers and create more accessible communities.   • Community Based Response to Healthcare
    This framework for planning and action provides steps you can take to effectively address healthcare issues. The ideas are flexible enough to be used by any group, from an established organization to a start-up group.  The framework can be used as a refresher on organizing for healthcare change, or as an introduction to the steps needed for larger projects.   • Alberta Rural Physician Action Plan
    RPAP (Alberta Rural Physician Action Plan) is an independent not-for-profit company funded by Alberta Health & Wellness, established to provide a provincially-focused comprehensive, integrated and sustained program for the education, recruitment and retention of physicians for rural practice.  Their website provides some of their publications and other useful information.
