The Peer Network for Dispute Resolution believes that knowledge is power. This innovative service puts the power of knowledge into the hands of municipal leaders, to help them help themselves. Now, you can use your wisdom and experience to assist other municipal officials in the challenges they face. To learn more about the Peer Network, please view the attached backgrounder and visit www.peernetwork.ca. The Peer Network is currently looking for nominations to fill the two AAMDC positions on the peer mentor roster. Peer mentors participate on a voluntary basis; more information on their role is included in the attached backgrounder. Nominees should possess the following qualities:
Commit to attend annual two-day training sessions and represent the Peer Network at other events where possible (e.g. trade shows) After reviewing the attached backgrounder and the Peer Network website, interested elected officials are asked to submit the following information to the AAMDC by March 9, 2011:
The term for a peer mentor representing the AAMDC is two years, but mentors can be extended for additional terms. The AAMDC Board of Directors will select two nominees. The successful candidates will be notified by the AAMDC once they are confirmed by Alberta Municipal Affairs.
