AAMDC Amends Resolution Process Policy

In October 2011, the AAMDC announced a new, consolidated policy regarding the resolutions process.  As a result of the bylaw review and subsequent amendments, the AAMDC committed to formalizing the resolutions process for members and a review of all documentation regarding the resolution process was completed.

To ensure the resolution session at future AAMDC conventions continue to proceed smoothly, the AAMDC Board of Directors recently approved an amendment to the Resolution Process Policy to clarify who is entitled to speak to resolutions from the convention floor.  The following amendment has been added under section D (4):

Only elected officials of full members shall be allowed to speak as of right to resolution during the resolutions session. Associate members, member administrative staff and guests may be permitted to speak upon recognition by the chair and consent of the majority of voting members, but may not move or second a resolution, or vote.

The amended policy will be printed in the Fall 2012 Convention handbook and available on the convention mobile app.  This change in policy formalizes the process for resolution sessions moving forward.

The AAMDC Resolution Process Policy is available by logging into the AAMDC website and clicking here.
